WHAT DO YOU FEED YOUR KIDS?
MIAMI, FL – That is the question that Ronni Litz Julien (MS, RD/LDN),
nutritionist, registered dietitian, author, mother and recently
appointed South Florida spokesperson for the American Heart
Association Childhood Obesity and Alliance for a Healthier
Generation, will be asking mothers and grandmothers at the Temple
Beth Torah’s 3rd Annual Literary Luncheon on Monday, November 6th
2006.
Julien, who is a nationally-recognized expert on childhood
nutrition, will be addressing the audience with one of the most
pressing issues facing children today – obesity. With over 35% of
American children overweight, Julien recently wrote an essential
parents’ guide to tackle this problem, called “What Should I Feed
My Kids? How to Keep Your Children Healthy By Teaching Them To Eat
Right” (Career Press, 2006). Having dedicated her professional
life to teaching healthy eating habits to all ages, Julien
educates children and adults on how to develop lifelong behavioral
changes, creating nutrition lifestyles that are realistic, and
simple to manage. Her message to the mothers and grandmothers at
the Literary Luncheon is that they may be making their children
unhealthy, by not teaching them to eat right.
Julien’s lecture at the Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus comes only a
few weeks before the start of Chanukah; a time of celebration and
festival spanning eight days. It’s at this time that many
waistlines span too. In addition to her indispensable parents’
guide, Julien will also be offering some advice and healthy
holiday eating tips from another book called “The Trans Fat
Free Kitchen” (Heath Communications, 2006). So Julien’s
practical and easy-to-implement advice on nutrition makes it easy
for young and old to adjust their eating habits, to a healthier
and happier lifestyle.
In addition to the lecture by Ronni Julien, a book-signing,
luncheon and boutique will also be held on the day.
